Amendment VI

Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

The sixth amendment has eight important rights included in it. One: a speedy and public trial. Two: all the trials must take place in public and the defendant must know what his charge is. Three: witnesses for the prosecutor must be and testify in public. Four: the defendant can produce witnesses on his or her own behalf. Five: the defendant has the right to a secure council. Six: allowed a jury with your own peers, but was limited. Seven: the juries are to be unbiased. Eight: speedy and public trials must take place within a reasonable amount of time after an indictment.

This video shows the use of the sixth amendment after a car hits a pedestrian in the street. A cop comes strolling in and states that they have the right to be tried in court without delay and by an impartial judge.

This a funny picture detailing the sixth amendment. According to the sixth amendment, everyone has the right to a speedy and public trial. This judge knows that and is commenting on how objections make the trial last longer.
