Amendment II

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The second amendment is also not absolute. This amendment has to deal with the people versus persons. One of the cases that pertained to this amendment was the district of Columbia v. Heller, 2008. The types of arms that the second amendment protects are those typically possessed by law abiding citizens for lawful purposes and also lets stand of keeping guns out of the hands of felons and requiring firearms to be registered and licensed. The strict radical conservative, Justice Scolea, wrote the decision for the majority with a five to four decision. This decision restricts machine guns and other military weapons as these were weapons not of ordinary use, but much like weapons used in the colonial times in the militia. At this time there was no standing military and nobody really wanted a military. The antifederalists believed that armed people were a check on government power.

In this video, a bad guy is trying to rob a diner. He ended up getting very unlucky and all of the people in the diner pulled out their glocks on him. This is a good example of why the second amendment is enforced. Allowing people to carry guns keeps them protected from the many dangers in the world.

If the Politically Correct argued for the Second Amendment.

This funny little comic gives a good example of some people who agree with the second amendment. These people think that people should be able to hold ownership of guns.
